This revelation or insight came up earlier, here, at some point in the series but here is the ultimate outcome just prior to hammering these babies up on the roof. What started out as a bundle of shingles split from a their billet and weighing in at 10+ kilos, dropped down to an intermediate weight fairly quickly, after removal of the pith and sapwood and subsequent trimming, to a slim 5.5 kilos and then yet more drying over a period of two or three dry summer months here in the northern central European costal regions reached their final condition weighing in at 4.5 kilos. A substantial difference in total accumulated weight loss from beginning to end.
